A truly outstanding list. I've come across a few of these and have desperately been seeking something simple that avoids having to fire up Photoshop for simple tasks. It's all here. Thanks

Thanks...these are some great sites. I have been looking for a free editing photo site and haven't found a good one. I will check these out...
I do not have photo editors on my computer anymore and the one that comes with the camera/computer is not user friendly or that entire great.

I'm excited to see your list. I'm familiar with some. I'm the Executive Editor at DailySource. We used Snipshot for years, but became very dissatisfied with the quality. It's not much of an issue for larger images, but for our smaller images, like our World in Photos and masthead, a strange fuzz would appear. Say you have a simple shot of a person. Once resized, a halo of fuzz or slight distortion appeared around the subject. We used Snipshot when it was free and bought a subscription. Honestly, noticed it more when Snipshot turned into a paid service. Within the last month, we switched to Picnik and are very satisfied with the clarity and quality. We're always looking for alternative programs in case our suggested online program is down. These include GIMP and Pixenate. Thanks again for the list. Looking forward to sharing it with our editors.
